South Africa-flagged and IMO 5347831. Launched by Harland&Wollf Govan, Glasgow, Scotland (identical to the yard Pointhouse of A&A. Inglis Ltd., Glasgow?) on slip no. 2 with yard number 1021 on 6 July 1939 and delivered on 1 November 1939 to the South African Government, Railways&Harbours Administartion, Cape Town. However requisitioned by the British Royal Navy and commissioned as Wayermeyer until she was handed over to the Soth African government in November 1940. Broken up by B.&M. Metals Pty. Ltd. at Cape Town, South Africa on 20 April 1982. Dimensions 47,43 x 10,09 metres or 145 (between perpendiculars) x 33 feet, gross tonnage 620 ton and deadweight 503 tons. Twin screws and a speed of around 12 knots. Machinery consisted of Lobnitz&Co. Td., Renfrew triple expansion 6 cylinders steam engines.
