Japan strengthening and increasing naval interests in Formosa according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1907-1908 No. 8

An item reported that the defence of the island Formosa which was than a secondary naval base for Japan was to further strengthened. At Kolnnuy were heavy batteries to be placed and the establishing of a station for torpedo boats.
