DEMS armament of the Dutch merchant ship Both according to a list dated Sydney, Australia 15th February 1944

Part of the fleet of the Dutch merchant shipping company Koninklijke Paketvaart Maatschappij (KPM). The list was supplied by the Dutch senior officer of Defensively Equipped Merchant Ship (DEMS) organisation  at Sydney, captain lieutenant B.J. Knollema.(1)

Stiffening low angle gun foundation. Her armament consisted of: 1 high angle/low angle 12 pd gun, 2cm Oerlikon machineguns, 2x2 Colt cal 50 machineguns, 4 PACs, 1 Pillar Box=Mk II anti-aircraft rocket launcher with 20-5,08cm/2” rockets, 6 Smoke Floats, paravanes and degauss installation. Protected bridge. Gun crew numbered 17 men.

1. Built by Nederlandsche Scheepsbouw Maatschappij, Amsterdam, Netherlands in 1931 and lost in 1958.
