Japanese whaling fleet completed her South Pole expedition according to the Dutch magazine Schip en Werf dated 22 July 1949

An item reported that the Japanese whaling fleet completed her South Pole expeditions with a total result of 54.000 tons of products, 7.000 tons more as the year before. The 2 floating factories handled within the three months 1.654 whales. Of the 54. 000 tons was 20.000 handed over to the International Emergence Food Council and 34.000 tons was kept in Japan. During the whole expedition stayed Allied observers on board of the fleet.
