British destroyer HMS Viking collided with tug Triton according to the magazine Mitteilungen aus dem Gebiete des Seewesens dated 1910 No. 7

An item reported that the British destroyer HMS Viking went to sea for trials on 9 May she in the fog collided with the tug Triton of Shields. The tug sunk within some minutes but her crew and passengers were saved. The Viking returned to Yarrow with a broken prow.(1)

1. Of the Tribal-class, preceded by the River-class, succeeded by the Beagle or G-class, laid down by Palmers Shipbuilding and Iron Company, Jarrow, England on 11 June 1908, launched on 14 September 1909 and sold to be broken up in 1919.
