Japanese whaling fleets returning from the Antarctic planning to visit Fremantle, Australia according to the Australian newspaper The West Australian dated Saturday 6 March 1937

An item reported the expected arrival at Fremantle, Australia around 20 March of the Japanese whaling fleet, one with the Nisshin Maru and 8 chasers and a second one with the Tonan Maru and 5 chasers coming from the Antarctic. For the Nisshin Maru was this the first time, the Tonan Maru the third time. The fleets passed Fremantle last October 1936 and begin November 1936.
