Russian submarine minelayer Krab launched according to the magazine Mitteilungen aus dem Gebiete des Seewesens dated 1913 No. 3

An item reported that the Russian submarine minelayer Krab was launched at Nikojew. Displacement 500 tons. The 60 mines were transported with a kind of endless chain from inside the hull for the actual mine laying. The trials with this submarine which represented a new kind of minelayer were with great interest awaited.91)

1. Launched at the Naval Shipyard, Nikolayev [nowadays Ukraine] in September 1912/1923, completed in 1913 and scuttled in April 1919. Salvaged and broken up in 1935.
