An item reported the fenced and rail served Soviet Astrakhan shipyard Kirov and Engels with as geographic coordinates 46.21.50 north and 48.07.00 east located 4 nautical miles east north east of the centre of Astrakhan on the south bank of the Pryama Bolda and seemed to be used for repairs (west area) and newbuilding of unidentified small vessels (east area). The shipyard possessed 2 side-haul marine railways, 4 transverse slipways for repairs, 2 floating docks, a quay and 2 fabrication, 6 shop and 26 support buildings.
