Her building was ordered on 27 October 1956, laid down at the Rotterdamsche Droogdok Maatschappij NV, Rotterdam, Netherlands for account of the Holland-Amerika Lijn (HAL) with yard number 300 on 14 December 1956, launched on 13 September 1958, commissioned on 20 August 1959, decommissioned on 30 September 1997, renamed Rembrandt and taken in service by the Premier Cruises, when the Premier Cruises went bankrupt laid up at Freeport, Bahamas on 21 September 2000, bought by the RDM BV on 1 May 2003, via the temporarily owner the Gemeentelijk Havenbedrijf Rotterdam sold to the Rederij De Rotterdam BV on 30 June 2005 and finally sold to Westcord Hotels on 2 November 2012.
