The personnel strength of the shipyard at Galati, Romania according to a CIA report dated 26 June 1952

An item referred to an anonymous informant who reported that the personnel strength of the shipyard at Galati, Romania was between 3.000-4.000 labourers working in 3 shifts of 8 hour 7 days a week. The informant had heard that this personnel at Galati was the best of all Romanian shipyards. For education was a 4 year school available where trainees were schooled to become masters on supervisory positions. It were long days for the trainees, namely 8 hours regular work followed by 3-4 hours classes every night classes except for the Sunday. Attendance at the classes was however compulsory.
