An item dated Amsterdam, Netherlands 24th reported that commandeur J.H. Carl arriving at Hamburg, Germany coming from Greeenland stating that on 17the May the whaler of commandeur H.P. Daal, homeport Hamburg was lost in the ice. Catch 1.200 seals [by Carl?]. Further more Carl said that the total catch of the 35 commandeurs from Hamburg, Germany and Glückstadt, Germany was 30 whalers and 986 quardelen seal blubber.
