Turkey negotiating with Vichy France for merchant ships according to the Dutch newspaper Het Vaderland dated 24 August 1942
An item referred to Turkish newspapers reporting that the Turkish cabinet was negotiating with the French Vichy cabinet about buying the French merchant fleet lying at Alexandria, Egypt.
