French naval base at Brest, France on 19 January 1915
The visible warship is the Duguay-Trouin, Of the Annamite-class built as the Tonkin/Tonquin by the Forges et Chantiers de la Méditerranée, La Seyne sur Mer with yard nymber 707, laid down in 1876, launched in 15 October 1878, completed in 1879, commissioned in June 1879 used as tranport until 1884 mainly on the route Touelon, France-Saigon, French Indochina, converted into a hospital ship betwen 1884-1887 stationed in the China Sea and the Indian Ocean, rebuilt into a cruiser ttaining school by 1900 and renamed Duguay-Trouin untill October 1913 when she became a floating school. In August 1914 converted again into a hospital ships and active in several regions like the English Channel, Mediterranean, Levant and the Black Sea. Renamed Moseille was she betweeen 1922 and 18 February 1927 used as floating barracks for the School of Marine Mechanics, stricken that same year and sold to be broken up on 26 May 1937.
