Seized Austrian and German merchant ships in American and allied service according to the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 22 May 1917

An item dated Washington, USA 21 May reported that the committee responsible for supervising the repairs of the seized Austrian and German merchant ships stated that on short notice 71 ships were able to taken into service. It was possible that 535.000 tons became available for her allies.
