Laid down by Mitsubishi Shipyard, Nagasaki, Japan with yard number 450 on 10 September 1927, launched on 30 October 1928 and completed on 15 September 1929. Stranded during a hurricane on 2 September 1937 at Hong Kong, repaired with shortened funnels which were black painted now showing white-red-white-red-white stripes. Requisitioned by the Imperial Japanese Navy on 30 November 1941 became she a (troop) transport and torpedoed and sunk by the American submarine Atule (SS-403) in the South China Sea on 1 November 1944.(1) Gross register tonnage 16.975 ton and as dimensions 178 x 21,9 x 13 metres or 584 x 72 x 43 feet.

1. Balao-class. Laid down by Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Kittery, Maine, USA on 2 December 1943, launched on 6 March 1944, commissioned 21 June 1944, finally decommissioned on 6 April 1970, purchased by Peru on 31 July 1974, renamed BAP Pacocha (SS-48) and sunk after a collision on 26 August 1988.
