Argentina and Chile probably using German ships according to the Dutch newspaper Rotterdamsch nieuwsblad dated 1 May 1918

An item dated London, England 30^th April referred to tidings received from Buenos Aires reporting that the USA more or less forced Argentina to use the German ships lying unemployed in Argentine harbours. The reason was that it otherwise probably would not be possible to get transport facilities towards La Plata. Chile was at that moment negotiating with Germany about hiring the German ships in Chilean harbours.
