A list of vessels hired by the German Kriegsmarine or for the Black Sea available vessels dated Vienna, Austria 29 January 1944 reported that the Kriegsmarine already hired the Erste Donau-Dampfschiffahrts-Gesellschaft (DDSG) tug Lobau with as horsepower 850 hp; in pencil 4 June 1944. A list dated 23 March 1944 reported that she was Germany-flagged, fitted out with 2 diesel engines, horsepower 820 hp, fuel consumption 3,72 ton/hour, fuel bunker capacity 40 ton, dimensions 48,30 x 7,20 x 1,45 metres and as speed 7,5(with tow)-14 (without tow) miles.
