Japanese single screw cargo ship (ex-Syotoku Maru 1938-1941) Shotoku Maru 1941-1943

Built by Hakodate Dock Co. Ltd., Hakodate. Japan in 1938. Owned by Shimatani Kisen K.K., Kobe, Japan. Call sign JPOJ. Gross tonnage 1.964 tons, under deck 1.600 tons, net tonnage 1.109 tons and as dimensions 270.6 x 40.0 x 2-.9 feet. Sunk by the American submarine USS Tunny (SS-282) off the west coast of Rota, Marianas on 28 June 1943. Used as an auxiliary gunboat. With a coal bunker capacity of 360 tons and a speed of 10 knots was the range 3.800 nautical miles. Speed 10 (cruising)-12 (maximum) knots.
