In his report dated Nikolajev, Ukraine 27 July 1943 informed captain W. Wilstermann of the R.K.S. the authorities responsible for the German sea shipping activities in the Black Sea about the wrecks to be found in his field. At Nikolajev was was one tug with 800 hp horsepower worth to be salvaged. Salvage efforts were already started but stopped while the salvage of vessels of the O.T. had priority.Her funnel and mast peaked out of the water. Salvage would not be easy while she had a leak in the bottom and she stuck in the mud.

1. Between 22 June 1941 and 10 November 1944 was the Soviet republic Ukraine more or less controlled by the German Reichskomissariat after she was conquered by Germany. The Soviets destroyed harbour facilities, scuttled ships and so on when the Germans invaded Ukraine.
