Dutch Davis Straits whalers had been successful according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 8 August 1758

An item reported that the Dutch Davis Strait whalers which arrived in the past four days had been successful with a total catch of 66 whales and 2.850 quardelen blubber, a medium catch for each ship of 8,25 whale.
