Spanish Veracruz fleet finally arrived at Cadiz, Spain according to the Dutch newspaper Hollandsche historische courant dated 23 July 1778

An item referred to a letter dated Cadiz, Spain 30 June reporting that the fleet coming from Veracruz, Mexico under command of rear admiral Don Antonio Ulloa finally arrived the day before in the Bay. She came directly from Havana, Cuba and consisted of the warships Sant-Jago, Spanjen, Draak, St. Laurens and the Sto. Angel de la Guarda (Heilige Bescherm Engel) and the merchant ships St. Christoffel and El Paxaro (de Vogel). Total estimated value of the cargoes was 22.165.820 piasters including 19.509.875 piasters in gold and silver (1.211.159 belonged tot he crown) and the remaining piasters in stores.
