An item reported that the British cabinet decided to built two battleships defending this decision by pointing out that the USA also decided to built 2 battleships.(1)
Notes
1. Probably the King George V and the Prince of Wales of the King George V-class, preceded by the Nelson-class and succeeded by the Lion-class (not realized) and the Vanguard. Duisplacement 42.923 tons deep load and a main armament of 4x4&1x2-35,6cm/14” Mk VII naval guns.
2. Probably the North Carolina-class consisting of the North Carolina and Washington, preceded by the South Dakota-class (not realized) and Colorado-class and succeeded by the South Dakota-class. Displacement 37.200 (standard)-45.500 (full load) tons and main armament of 3x3-40,6cm/16” cal 45 Mark 6 guns.
