French whaler Don Curcois sighted according to the the newspaper The Sydney Gazette and New South Whales Advertiser dated Saturday 8 December 1838
An
item reported that the whaler Governor Bourke (homeport Sydney, Australia) when
leaving Port Cooper [Lyttelton, New Zealand?] sighted the French whaler Don
Curcois boud home, 2.000 barrels black oil.
