French whaler Gustavus sighted according to the the newspaper The Sydney Gazette and New South Whales Advertiser dated Saturday 8 December 1838

An item reported that the whaler Governor Bourke (homeport Sydney, Australia) when leaving Port Cooper [Lyttelton, New Zealand?] sighted the French whaler Gustavus, 14 months at sea, 1.000 barrels black oil.
