Laid down by Uraga Dock Company with yard number 317 on 19 July 1926, launched on 2 April 1927 and beached to prevent sinking due to an Allied air attack on Japanese forces invading Vigan, Philippines on 10 December when she was supporting Japanese military. Gross tonnage 4.282 tons, deadweight 5.200 tons and as dimensions 108,4 x 7,1 x 14,8 metres or 356 x 49 x 23 feet, Speed 14 (cruising)-16,2 (maximum) knots with a 3.915hp coal fuelled Mitsubishi turbine machinery.
