Laid down by Uraga Dock Co. Ltd., Uraga, Japan for Nippon Kisen K.K, Japan on 22 December 1938, launched on 14 July 1939, completed on 26 April 1940, requisitioned by the Imperial Japanese Navy on 3 December 1940, converted into an auxiliary minesweeper, later also used for transport tasks and sunk on 12 June 1944 in an American air attack around 100 nautical miles west of the Alamagan Island, Northern Mariana Islands. Gross tonnage 3.000 tons, under deck and as dimensions 305.1 x 44.9 x 24.6 feet.
