American whaling ship Midus visited Honolulu, Hawaii according to the newspaper The Polynesian dated 6 June 1840

An item reported the arrival at Honolulu, Hawaii on 13 May of the American whaling ship Midus captain Coggeshall of New Bedford, USA 26 months out 1.200 barrels oil. Departed on 26 May for cruising.
