Japanese cargo passenger ship Oryoku Maru 1936-1944

Laid down by Mitsubisji Jukogyo KK, Nagasaki, Japan with yard number 681 for Osaka Syosen KK, Osaka, Japan on 5 December 1936, launched on 14 February 1937, completed on 30 September 1937, requisitioned by the Imperial Japanese Navy end 1943 and converted into a troop transport No. 5500 and sunk by American aircraft from the American carrier USS Hornet on 15 December 1944 while lying at the naval base, Olongapo, Subic Bay, Philippines. Call sign IIQA. Gross tonnage 7.363 ton, net tonnage 3.882 tons, deadweight 4.200 tons and as dimensions 425.8 x 57.1 x 33.3 x 21 (loaded) feet. Speed 16 (normal cruising)-18,5 (maximum) knots.
