Laid down for account of the Tokiowan Kisen K.K., Tokyo, Japan by Mitsubishi Shipbuilding, Kobe, Japan on 22 October 1934, launched on 22 March 1934, completed on 31 May 1935, requisitioned by the Japanese Imperial Navy on 27 June 1938, registered in the Kure Naval District as hospital ship, sunk by a Chinese aircraft on Lake Poyang, China on 27 July 1938, salvaged in September 1938, stricken form the Navy List on 8 November 1938, after repairs were completed recommissioned on 7 March 1939, since 28 August 1942 owned by Tokai Kisen K.K., requisitioned by the Japanese Imperial Army on 16 March 1943, late that year again registered as hospital ship, in 1945 assigned to the Allied Repatriation Service but not used for repatriation purposes. Her breaking up at Ako was completed on 13 March 1973. Call sign JAGA. Gross tonnage 1,772 tons, net tonnage 966 tons, deadweight 500 tons and as dimensions 249.3 x 40 x 18.0 feet.
