British merchant ship abandoned after German commerce raider attacking her according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 17 May 1942

An item reported that on 10 May a British merchant ship was abandoned by her crew on a distance of around 1.400 miles west north west of Freemantle, Australia after she was attacked by an enemy raider. She had been underway from Freetown, Sierra Leone towards Colombo, Ceylon.
