American whaling ship Elbe visited Laihana, Hawaii according to the newspaper The Polynesian dated 11 September 1841

An item reported the arrival at Lahaina, Hawaii on 3 September of the American whaling ship Elbe captain Merrihu of Poughkeepsie, USA 14 months out 1.500 barrels whale oil-1.350 this season. She lost one sailor and all her boast were stoved. The edition dated 18 September reported her departure from Maui on 15 September.
