Australian whaler Earl Stanhope visited Bay of Islands, New Zealand according the newspaper The Sydney Gazette and New South Whales Advertiser dated Tuesday 27 January 1835

An item reported the arrival on 15 December 1834 in the Bay of Islands, New Zealand of the whaler Earl Stanhope, master Salmon of Sydney, Australia loaded with 1.900 barrels departing for the fishery again on 8 January 1835.
