An item referred to the magazine Schiffbau reporting that the British 2nd class cruiser HMS Gloucester executed her progressive trials with the following results. At the 4 hours trial with 1.620bhp resulted in a speed of 17,837 miles, with 4.450 bhp in 17,549 miles, with 8.825bhp in 20.700 miles. At the 8 hours trial with 18.250bhp in 25,084 miles and with 24.490bhp in 26,300 miles. During the 22hours was her speed with 13.690bhp 23,447 miles. She had a displacement of 4.480 tons and a over all length of 137,16 metres. The machinery consisted of Parsons turbines and coal-fuel fired Yarrow boilers and 4 shafts/screws.(1)
