Built by Gydnia Shipyard, Gdynia, Poland in 1989 as a special purpose vessel for account of the Russian Academy of Sciences.Served in the Russian Far East as a passenger and supply vessel and than in charter if Aurora Expeditions, Sydney, Australia which used her as a passenger ship in the Arctic and Antartic seas.
