Philippine screw steam cargo ship (Yeoman 1901-1929) Argus 1929-1941 (Shinnan Maru 1942-1945)

Launched by Wood, Skinner&Co. Ltd. At their Bill Quay yard, Newcastle, England with yard number 98 on 21 January 1901, completed in February 1901, renamed Argus and owned by Madrigal&Co., Manila, Philippines, registered in the USA, captured by the Japanese forces at Hong Kong on 25 December 1941, renamed Shinnan Maru, sunk by the American submarine USS Cero (SS-225) off Ofinato, Japan and in 1949 salvaged and scrapped. Gross register tonnage 1.009/1.025 tons, net register tonnage 585/640 tons and as dimensions 220.0 x 31.7 x 14.8 feet.
