Russian Antarctic whaling fleet expected to bunker at South Africa according to the Australian newspaper Townsville Daily Bulletin dated Saturday 13 December 1947

An item reported that a Russian whaling fleet including the factory ship Slava and eight whale chasers arrived at Cape Town, South Africa to bunker stores and supplies. The Russian ships were bound for the Antarctic.
