German E-boats returning to Mariupol, Ukraine according to the German War Diary of Admiral Black Sea dated 1 September 1943

An item reported the arrival at 05:00 o’clock of 4 boats belonging to the German 1st E-Boat Flotilla at Mariupol, Ukraine returning from the patrol line without seeing the enemy [Russia].(1)
