American whaler Ceres returned home according to the newspaper The Inquirer and Mirror dated Wednesday 11 March 1835

An item reported the arrival at New Bedford, USA on 2 March of the American whaler Ceres master [John J.] Parker returning from the Indian and South Atlantic Oceans via St. Helena 700 barrels sperm oil 900 barrels whale oil for G.R. Thornton. In May 1833 died on board John Gordon of New Bury, New York and in August 1834 James Thomas of Portland, Me.
