An item reported the recent departure of Fremantle, USA by the 16.800 tons Japanese whaling floating factory Nissen Maru towards the Antarctic. Her draught was 40 feet. The expected catch that season was 1.600 whales of 16.000 tons of oil. On board of her was the embalmed body of her in Fremantle suddenly deceased manger Tinto.
