An item reported that the British cruiser HMS Calcutta (1) was to escort the British HMS battle cruiser Renown (2) during her visiting harbours in the West Indies (3) and then in begin October to be refitted at Bermuda.

1. Of C-class light cruisers, laid down by Vickers Limited, Barrow-in-Furness, England on 18 October 1917, launched on 9 July 1918, commissioned on 28 August1919, converted into an anti-aircraft cruiser in 1939 and sunk in a German air attack off Alexandria, Egypt on 1 June 1941.
1. Of the Renown-class with as sister ship the Repulse. Original laid down as an improved Revenge-class design but when the First World War broke out was her completion delayed and afterwards completed as battle cruisers. Building ordered on 30 December 1914, laid down at Fairfield, Govan, Scotland on 25 January 1915, launched on 4 March 1916, commissioned on 20 September 1915 and sold on 19 March 1948.
