British despatch vessel HMS Alacrity serving in Chinese waters according to the Weekly Intelligence Summary Nr. 10 for the week ending 11 September 1920

An item reported that the British despatch vessel HMS Alacrity would probably leave Wei-hai-Wei around 29 September towards Tsingtau and Hangkau, to stay in Yangtse and then leaving end October to Hong Kong arriving there end November.(1)

Note

1. Steam yacht annex despatch vessel, launched as Margarita in 1900, renamed Semiramis in 1910, requisitioned by the British Royal Navy in 1918, commissioned as HMS Alacrity in 1919, paid off in July 1922 and sold in 1923.
