Enemy submarines especially active off Florida and Lesser Antilles according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee Daily summary dated 7 May 1942

An item reported that in the western part of the Atlantic Ocean enemy submarines were especially active off the east coast of Florida, USA and around the Lesser Antilles. South of Charleston seemed recently to be more submarines as in the past. Farther north seemed the main part of the enemy submarines going outward or homeward. Nothing was further about the 25 submarines sighted of the Gold Coast.
