Japanese destroyer Yūgure 1933-1943

 Shiratsuyu-class

Laid down by Maizuru Naval Arsenal under 1933 Fiscal Year on 9 April 1933, launched on 6 May 1934, commissioned on 30 March 1935, sunk in an Allied air attack shipping troops to Kolombangara [New Georgia Islands, Solomon Islands]  on 20 July 1943 and stricken on 15 October 1943. Under the Circle One Program was originally the building of 12 destroyers authorized, six however were built as the succeeding Shiratsuyu-class. All ships are modified in their service. Part of the Hatsuharu-class destroyers Ariake sub-class, preceded by Akatsuki-class, succeeded by Shiratsuyu-class. Original technical specifications were a displacement of 1.530 tons and s dimensions 109.5 (over all) x 10 x 3.38 metres or 359.3 x 32.10 x 11.1 feet. The machinery consisted of 2 sets geared Kampon steam turbines and 3 water tube boilers supplying via 2 shafts 42.000shp allowing a speed of 36 knots and with 14 knots speed a range of 4.000 nautical miles. Their crew numbered 212 men. The armament consisted of 2x2&1x1-12.7cm/5” cal 50 Type 3 naval guns, 2x1-4cm/1.6” anti aircraft guns, 2x3-61cm/24” torpedo tubes and 18 depth charges.
