American guided missile destroyer USS The Sullivans (DDG-68) 1994-

Part of the Arleigh Burke-class Aegis guided missile destroyers, preceded by Kidd and Spruance-classes, succeeded by Zumwalt-class and DDG(X). USA-flagged, MMSI 367198000 and call sign NSUL. Building ordered on 9 April 1992, laid down by Bath Iron Works Corporation, Bath, Maine, USA on 27 July 1994, launched on 12 August 1995 and commissioned on 19 April 1997. Displacement 6,900 (light)-9,000 (full) and as dimensions 154 x 18 x 9.4 metres or 505 x 59 x 31 feet. Maximum speed above 30 knots and a range o 4,400 nautical miles/20 knots. Crew numbers 281 men. Armament consists of 2 Sikorsky MH-60R helicopters, 1-29 cell, 1-61 cell Mk 41 vertical launching systems with 90 RIM-156 SM-2, BGM-109 Tomahawk or RUM-139 VL-ASROC missiles, 2-Mk 141 Harpoon Missile Launcher SSM, 1-12,7cm/5” Mark 45 gun, 2-2,5 cm chain gun, 4-12.7mm/0.50“ machine guns, 2-2cm Phalanx CIWS and 2x3 Mk 32 ASW torpedo tubes for 32,4cm/12.75” torpedoes.
