An item reported the presence of a Japanese aircraft carrier in the vicinity of Singapore with indications that she would depart on short notice to support the Japanese forces at Rangoon, Burma or to act against the shipping in the Indian Ocean. A Japanese attack into the Bay of Bengal to conqueror the Andaman Islands was the most probably intention.
