Enemy submarines returning from operation area west of the Azores according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 19 March 1942

An item reported that twelve enemy submarines which operated west of the Azores seemed to be returning home. If the boats were replaced by a similar number of submarines was not known. The J.I.C. commented that the 12 submarines were a considerable part of the total number active in the West Atlantic Ocean as was reported in Summary No. 93.
