Swedish whaling company operating on small scale according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche courant dated 8 May 1777

An item dated Stockholm, Sweden 14 April reported that in 1773 at Gothenburg, Sweden established whaling company intended to sent 2 if possible 3 whalers towards Greenland in 1777 and 3 smaller seal hunters. The newspapers wondered why no more ships were fitted out regarded the large subsidies offered by the crown of at least 20%.
