British minesweeping sloops HMS Valerian and Wistria bound for the Canary Islands according to the Weekly Intelligence Summary No. 1 dated 8 January 1921

An item reported the departure of the HMS Valerian (1) and Wistaria (2) from Devonport, England on 7 January bound for Las Palmas, Canary Islands.

Notes

1. Arabis-class minesweeping sloops preceded by Azalea-class succeeded by Aubrieta-class. Laid down by Charles Rennoldson and Company, South Shields in 1915, launched on 21 February 1916, stationed at Royal Navy Dockyard, Bermuda and lost in the Havana-Bermuda hurricane on 22 October 1926.

2. T.79 by 1918 T.91. Arabis-class minesweeping sloops preceded by Azalea-class succeeded by Aubrieta-class. Building ordered in July 1915, launched by Irvine’s on 7 December 1915 and sold on 18 January 1931.
