An item reported that the British minesweeping sloops HMS Valerian (1) and Wistaria (2) would depart in early January 1921 from Devonport, England via Las Palmas, Canary Islands and St. Vincent, Cape Verde towards Trinidad.

1. Arabis-class minesweeping sloops preceded by Azalea-class succeeded by Aubrieta-class. Laid down by Charles Rennoldson and Company, South Shields in 1915, launched on 21 February 1916, stationed at Royal Navy Dockyard, Bermuda and lost in the Havana-Bermuda hurricane on 22 October 1926.
2. T.79 by 1918 T.91. Arabis-class minesweeping sloops preceded by Azalea-class succeeded by Aubrieta-class. Building ordered in July 1915, launched by Irvine’s on 7 December 1915 and sold on 18 January 1931.
