Ray and lobster fishery in Dutch province Zealand according to the Dutch newspaper Goedkoope Vlaardingsche courant dated 4 May 1907

An item reported that since March fishermen started again the ray fishery in the upper Ooster Schelde and in the Zandkreek. This kind of fishing started some years ago with well results. At the same was started with the lobster fishery although still with lesser results probably due to the less favorable weather conditions. The rays were mainly sold to Belgium for 0,60-0.70 cent depending on the size. There were already fishermen which caught between two tides 50-70 rays.
